The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church is committed to helping God’s people fulfill His call. Worshiping God through song is the heart of the Music Ministry of FBC. We seek to inspire and teach all ages to experience the privilege of worship through the gift of music. The mission of the FBC Music Ministry is to joyfully lead God’s people in worship and to be faithful companions to the preached Word of God in proclaiming Christ and His salvation to our community and the world through music. Through our song, we seek to honor God with the blending of voices, organ, piano, and various other instruments. It is our desire that all persons, regardless of age or musical background, find a place to “Serve through Song” at First Baptist Woodbury.

YOUTH CHOIR NEWS
The First Baptist Church Youth Choir participated in the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board Youth Project 2020 hosted by First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro on the 7th and 8th of February 2020. This event, which brings together Youth Choirs from across Baptist Churches in Tennessee, had over 250 in attendance. The FBC, Woodbury Choir had the distinction of being the smallest Youth Choir with three youth in attendance while FBC Germantown had the largest Youth Choir with 79 youth in attendance. Youth Project began on Friday night with dinner (Pizza) followed by a quick introduction, then a breakout into sectionals. During this same timeframe tryouts for solo parts were conducted. At 9:00 pm, the entire Youth Project Choir assembled in the Sanctuary for their first collective practice, ending a little after 10:00 pm.
Saturday began at 9:00am with collective practice until lunch at noon (Chick-Fil-A) with another practice after lunch. The Youth Choir performed six arrangements during the concert at 1:30 pm, consisting of: “To God Be the Glory”, written by Fanny Crosby, arranged by Dennis Allen; “Order My Steps”, written by Glenn Burleigh, arranged by Jack Schrader; “Psalm 62”, written by Stuart Townsend, arranged by Cliff Duren & Aaron Keyes; “Lord of the Small”, written by Johanna Anderson, arranged by Dan Forrest; “Jesus Is My Lord, My Master, And Savior”, written by S. Allred; “Who You Say I Am”, written by Ben Fielding, arranged by Cliff Duren & Reuben Morgan; “The Potter’s Hand” , written by Darlene Zschech, arranged by Dennis Allen
Youth Project 2020 was led and conducted by Jonathan Rodgers (pictured far right above), a native of Tennessee and currently serving as the Minister of Music and Worship Arts at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Jonathan led and conducted all the Choir Practices and the Performance as well as vibrantly relating the message of salvation and the message of the songs to all the participants. Dawson Hull (pictured 2nd from right above) of Germantown Baptist Church did a fantastic job of providing the accompaniment on the piano.
Over the coming months, the FBC Woodbury Youth Choir will perform the Youth Project songs during our monthly performances during Sunday evening worship with some help from the Adult Choir so as to cover all of the parts and do justice to these songs of praise. You will want to hear these beautiful and moving songs!
Though we were the smallest Youth Choir, FBC Woodbury was very well represented. Our Youth Choir conducted itself in an exceptional manner and greatly matured in our musical talent and dedication to sing praise to Our Lord and Savior!
