In Acts 1: 8, Jesus tells His disciples, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” As His disciples today, we seek to be His witnesses at each of the four levels He identifies in that verse: local, regional, national, and international.
At each of the four levels, we work to share the Gospel by actively doing three things: praying, giving, and going. Along with our witness in the local community, we support and participate in the work of the Salem Baptist Association and Tennessee Baptist Convention on the regional level, the Southern Baptist North American Mission Board on the national level, and the Southern Baptist Convention International Mission Board on the International level. We work to learn about the specific needs and those who are serving in each area, and to give sacrificially to send and support those who are called.
We also believe in going ourselves. In 2018 the church was represented on a trip to North Africa sponsored by the Salem Association, and in July 2020 we will be taking a group of members to conduct VBS and do light construction work at a church in Brockton, Massachusetts.
